Give up job as district chimney sweep
Authorised district chimney sweeps who wish to give up their position can apply to the competent authority to have their appointment cancelled. The district chimney sweep must then apply to be deleted from the Register of Craftsmen and, if necessary, deregister his or her trade if the entire activity is to be discontinued.

The respective city or district that made the appointment is responsible.

Prerequisite
The competent authority may cancel the appointment as an authorised district chimney sweep at the request of the person concerned.
However, it ends at the latest at the end of the month in which the appointed person reaches the age of 67.
Procedure
- Once you have submitted the application and all documents are complete, the competent authority will check whether you fulfil all the requirements.
- If you meet all the requirements, the competent authority will issue a notice releasing you from the position of authorised district chimney sweep.
- The competent authority must immediately notify the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control of the cancellation of the appointment for the purposes of maintaining the chimney sweep register by the competent authority.
Deadlines
None, but the date on which the appointment is to be cancelled must be specified. This date should be no earlier than three months after the application is submitted.
